- Their understanding of Indian culture is hollow and based on nukkad-panwala gossip.
- Their vision of democracy is pushing for imposition of ununderstood ideas they think are characteristic of Hinduism. Freedom is only for themselves; others are free to eat only that which they sanction, do the exercises only those they sanction, study in the schools only that they sanction.
- Their intellectual capabilities average around that of a 6 year old child; unfortunately none of the innocence and curiosity of a 6 year old is visible in them. Therefore, they are uneducable.
- Their efficiency lies in thoughtless proclamations and twitter abuses. Action is alien to them. ‘Mindless Word’ is taken for the ‘world’.
- Morality to them ends with not eating cow (only openly?).
- Equality for them lies in varna-asham dharma defined by Manu Maharaj.
- Their Hinduism is in formation; basically motivated by the envy of Islam and Christianity for having central dogmas to bind the flock of believer together. They do not know that nuanced interpretation of those central dogmas in Christianity and Islam has produced a wide range of understanding and they are the same more in theory than in practice. The poor devils are incapable of finding such dogma in Hinduism but are persistent. If they continue and Hindu society fails to stop them Hinduism will break and diminish.
- Corruption in their ranks is rampant but they do not admit it. Rather protect it.
- They are doing in politics what numerous Babas and Ammas are doing to subtle ideas of Hinduism: ugly vulgarization.
- We are being rules by a group which is morally depraved, intellectually imbecile, aesthetically severely challenged and grossly inefficient in action. (The last one is a saving grace; it limits their capability to damage!)
ARE THEY AN AGGREGATED MIRROR IMAGE OF OURSELVES? OTHERWISE HOW COME THEY ARE IN POWER IN A DEMOCRACY? (SCARY THOUGHT!)

I agree with the comments made in this article, particularly the line, ‘Their vision of democracy is pushing for imposition of ununderstood ideas they think are characteristic of Hinduism.’ In my opinion, this fanatical majoritarianism stems from a deeper cause which has also been one of the great tragedies of Hinduism and it is that there has been a great paucity of true spiritual and social reformers.
Most of the so-called gurus and preceptors are ritualists and sacerdotalists masquerading as spiritual teachers; they do not have true knowledge of the actual purport of the scriptures and identify the dross with the essence. They are the proponents of the so-called ‘dharmic’ school of thought–an entirely false interpretation of the message of the sacred texts based on the Vedic karma-kanda or injunctions of the ritualistic sections of the Vedas (not the Upanishads). It is this false ‘dharmic’ interpretation by these so-called gurus and apologists of karma-kanda that is the real root cause of this fanatical ideology.
Instead of focusing on pure devotion to Isvara (God) Who is immanent in the heart of all creatures, much of this false interpretation revolves round externalities, with external symbols and forms and other paraphernalia and with unphilosophical notions of what to eat, what dress to wear, what place to regard as sacred and what not, etc. based, of course, on the injunctions of varna and asrama which views man as a material unit and divides men according to caste and one’s station in life. Naturally, when these ‘dharmic’ notions come into conflict with the requirements of a modern liberal and secular state, these proponents of sacerdotalism are very much alarmed. They also fear to lose their constituencies. A call to ‘protect’ the ‘Hindu dharma’ is then their ultimate recourse.
This is not merely a feature of modern (post-independence) times but has been going on for centuries. Whenever a powerful spiritual reformer would appear on the horizon, these protagonists of orthodoxy would make every wicked effort possible to obstruct, oppose, antagonize and, of course, vilify him.
The problem is further aggravated due to the sheer ignorance of the vast masses of the Hindu society of the word of the scriptures. This pathetic level of spiritual illiteracy (bolstered by several factors such as lack of knowledge of the Sanskrit language, unavailability of and/or lack of access to printed editions of the spiritual texts, etc.) causes vast swathes of the population to believe uncritically the (false) interpretations of the gurus and with blind faith in their utterances.
What these so-called gurus and their blind. uncritical followers do not realize is that it is the forsaking of this (so-called) dharma that is the ultimate verdict and message of Krsna in no less a scripture than the Bhagavad Gita–‘sarva dharman parityajya mamekam saranam vraja’ (v. 18.66).
